Oh my hotness! We have been busy downloading haven't we? Apple just released in a press statement that over a million apps were downloaded 24 hours after they launched the Mac App store.
"We're amazed at the incredible response the Mac App Store is getting," said Steve Jobs. "Developers have done a great job bringing apps to the store and users are loving how easy and fun the Mac App Store is."
It's not really surprising given the success of the iPhone and iPad app stores but it's still very impressive by anyone's measure. The numbers include both free and paid apps, although Apple did not release a breakdown of the proportion for paid and those that were downloaded for free.
The most popular? Angry Birds!
